KNU ,the biggest ethnic rebel of Burma release statement

KNU Statement on Violence against the Sanghas and People by SPDC
on September 26, 2007

September 27, 2007

We, the KNU, strongly condemn suppression by the SPDC, using violence and shooting, of peaceful and orderly demonstrations held by the Sanghas and the people.

This shooting and violence is like fuelling the movement of the Sanghas and the people. If violence and shooting continue, the SPDC military clique must bear all the consequences.

The armed forces are fostered by the people. We again earnestly urge, you, the armed forces, to stop shooting and killing the people and the Sanghas, and stand on the side of the people and the Sanghas by turning your gun barrels against the SPDC generals, who are making you to commit heinous crimes, so that they may remain in power.

We again urge the officers and men of the Burma armed forces at the frontline to revolt against the SPDC generals and join forces with the Sanghas and the people, and to get in touch with the KNU and other resistance forces.

We urge all the ethnic ceasefire groups to join forces with the Sanghas and the people, and unite in revolt against the SPDC military dictatorship clique.

The use of violence and shooting by the SPDC does not indicate strength. For that reason, we urge the Sanghas and the people to raise their action and struggle on until the military clique collapses.

We earnestly urge the UN and freedom, justice and peace loving countries not to look on, with folded hands, the horrifying violence and shooting perpetrated by the SPDC and take actions to stop the odious acts and punish the SPDC, by various means.
