Burma’s border security forces arrests two from mosque
Maungdaw, Arakan State: Burma's Border Security Force arrested two people from in front of the mosque when they were going home after Esha prayer, on the allega! tion that they were preparing to go to Bangladesh, said a relative of the victims.
The arrested person were identified as Nurul Haque (70), son of Bodiur Rahaman, hailing from Taungbro Right village of Maungdaw Township and Nurul Islam(65), son of Gulal, hailed from the same village.
On September 21, at about 9 p.m, Nasaka personnel led by Captain Nay Myo of Taungbro Nasaka camp, went to the mosque of Taungbro Right and arrested the two men while they were going out from mosque after Esha prayer. Later, they were brought to the Nasaka camp.
At the camp, they were set free and were asked to come to the Nasaka camp the next morning, said a village elder.
The next day, when they appeared at the Nasaka camp, they were asked to give 70 liter and 65 liters, of diesel according to their age, otherwise they would be arrested and cases filed against them.
To avoid arrest, the two people gave 135 liters of diesel to the Nasaka. A gallon of diesel is sold for kyat 4,546 in Maungdaw Township, according to traders. ##
