"Heartbroken" Burmese diplomat resigns
A long-serving diplomat working at the Burmese embassy in London has resigned, saying he can no longer work for a government which attacks unarmed monks.
The diplomat, U Ye Min Tun told the BBC that now was the time to show disagreement with the government.
In a letter to the Burmese embassy in London, he also said the crushing of street protests in Rangoon and other cities last month had been shameful and had broken his heart.
He added that he had taken the decision to resign on his own, without any contact with anti-government groups within or outside the country.
